He's Back And He's Missed

Posted by Luke on September 4, 2006 12:13 PM |

One minute your sending a magnificent last-minute drop goal through the posts to win the World Cup for England, the next your injured and three years later you're missing a last minute penalty to condemn the Newcastle Falcons to defeat against Northampton.

Still, it's good to see the name Jonny Wilkinson back in the paper without injury, scare or "fears he will never play again" after it.

I think I speak for everyone - well Tony Blair claims to so why shouldn't I - when I say it's great to have you back.

Now that you are, though, any chance you could get back to scoring in the last minute rather than missing?

And any chance you could get the England team sorted out? They've played like a bunch of clowns while you've been putting your feet up.

I mean, we've had that Charlie Hodgson to try and get excited about, but he's all clever passes and angles, not what we're used to at all. We want someone who is going to lurk behind the scrum, throw himself into tackles and then do that funny arm waving thing before you kick another penalty!

We remember the days when you used to win things for us pretty much on your own, so why can't you do it again?
